Learn About Adaptive Skiing

Do you enjoy the feeling of sliding on the snow and the rush of air? How about sharing the joy with skiing in the beautiful mountain scenery and the view of Lake Tahoe? If you like it, your child might like it too!

For a special needs child, skiing can be an opportunity to participate in an area they may typically feel excluded. It can be an opportunity to have a great vacation and share with friends and family. It can also lead to skills and abilities that they carry off the hill.

Moreover, adaptive skiing is more accessible than ever, with affordable lessons through the nonprofit ski school at Alpine Meadows sponsored by Disabled Sports USA. Here, lessons are affordalbe and high-calider. They are just 1/5th the cost of regular private lessons, and less expensive even than group lessons, and 1/3 the cost of Heavenly Resort, where I taught for the last 3 years. Plus, with this program, your child will be working with experienced professionals in an entire program dedicating to teaching children like yours!

As your child learns to ski, his or her senses awaken. Your child become more physically and emotionally masterful as he conquers his fears while gaining new skills. As she discovers what fun it is, she is learning out of her motivation to have a good time.

Adaptive ski lessons are ski lessons designed for children with special needs. In this site you can:
